As the MICDS athletic program has grown over the years, it became apparent that the School was in need of a new field venue that would enhance competition and personal growth, while fostering and placing a spotlight on the school-wide community spirit that makes MICDS special. When this vision for a new playing field emerged as a priority of the Bold Action Campaign, the O’Hara family came forward with their well-known passion for athletics, taking the lead on this special project.

“The O’Hara family is proud to be a part of this amazing field and stadium,” remarked John O’Hara ’81. “It’s a perfect place for athletes, student fans, parents, and alumni to enjoy high school sports. We are happy to be a part of something that brings the entire MICDS community together. The finished project is outstanding in every way.”

The generosity of the O’Hara family has truly transformed the future of field sports at MICDS. In addition to Boys and Girls Lacrosse and Soccer, O’Hara Field will also be home to Rams Football. Athletic Director Josh Smith shared, “O’Hara Field is the host for an MICDS record five Athletic Programs. We see this space as a tremendous resource that will push our student-athletes, coaches, and teams to achieve at the highest possible level. The excitement generated from the competition on this field will fuel our athletic programs in the years to follow.”
